It gave me some ideas of wonderful memorabilia I have that just sits in a box - perhaps a quilt would be an expression of a time in my life I would like to keep around. It reminds me of a quilt I saw in a show a few years ago. A woman had collected odd objects that she'd found out on her early morning walks over the course of a year or so. She cleaned them up and incorporated them into a quilt with applique, little pockets, ribbon ties, etc. Unusual bottle caps, an old playing card, etc. Sounds funky, but it was truly delightful.
