Quilling

No, I didn’t spell it wrong. Quilling is actually nothing like quilting. It is a paper art that is three dimensional. Defined briefly, it is taking very narrow strips of paper and rolling them into shapes, which are then placed appropriately to create a piece of art. It is fun for beginners and it can become a very elaborate and intricate, such as seen in Sandra White’s gallery as linked below.

As with any craft, quilling feels ackward at first. Getting used to it is half the learning curve. Then the rest is your creativity. Translating artistic designs into quilling and interpreting them is a relaxing and productive craft. You may find that this craft is one that can satisfy your creative urge like no other. Working with paper and shaping it is a very unique skill and one that is most enjoyable.
